Hello everyone, welcome back to another newsletter of LostinHyd. We welcome all the new subscribers; glad to have you here!
Hyderabad has been feeling unusually alive lately. The cafés are full even on weekdays, everyone suddenly wants to “go out somewhere nice,” and the city somehow looks prettier after 6 PM. Maybe it’s the slight evening breeze, maybe it’s summer nostalgia kicking in, or maybe Hyderabad just knows how to romanticize ordinary weekends better than any other city.
So if your weekends lately have been reduced to scrolling reels and saying “we should plan something,” here are a few things I’d personally recommend checking out this week.
Things I’d Actually Suggest This Week
For the people emotionally attached to mango season
Mad For Mangos
I genuinely think Hyderabad people wait for mango season more than they wait for winter.
And this event feels like the perfect way to fully embrace it. Mango desserts, drinks, food specials — basically an entire event built around everyone’s collective summer obsession.
Personally, I’d suggest this as a relaxed daytime outing with friends or family. Nothing too hectic, just good food and very wholesome summer energy.
Also, anything mango-themed instantly feels like serotonin right now.
For your “one chaotic weekend plan”
Omiki Live at Quake Arena
Not every weekend plan needs to be soft and peaceful.
Sometimes you just need one loud night with dramatic lights, music that temporarily deletes all your responsibilities, and an atmosphere where nobody’s checking the time.
Omiki at Quake Arena honestly feels like that kind of experience. The sort of plan you agree to casually and end up talking about for the next few days.
I’d especially recommend this if your weekends have started feeling repetitive lately.
A slower plan for people tired of crowded cafés
String Art Workshop
I’ll always recommend experiences like this because Hyderabad genuinely needs more activities where you can just slow down a little.
The String Art Workshop sounds peaceful in the best way possible — a few hours of creating something aesthetic, spending time offline, and doing something different from the usual café-hopping routine.
Even if you think you’re not creative, I feel like this is one of those workshops people unexpectedly end up loving.
Honestly? This would make such a cute solo date idea too.
The comfort plan of the week
Silaa Saturday — Telugu Jamming Session
There’s something about Telugu live music that immediately changes the atmosphere of a room.
This feels less like an “event” and more like one of those evenings that slowly becomes memorable without trying too hard. Familiar songs, people softly singing along, nostalgic playlists, warm café energy — the entire vibe sounds incredibly comforting.
Personally, this might be my favourite evening pick from the list.
Especially if your playlist already includes old Telugu melodies you refuse to skip.
Restaurant I’d 100% Recommend Right Now
Chives, Himayat Nagar
The kind of place you accidentally become loyal to.
I recently came across Chives, and it instantly felt like one of those restaurants I’d keep recommending to everyone. The space is elegant without feeling intimidating, calm without becoming boring, and somehow works for almost every kind of plan — long lunches, dinner catch-ups, family outings, or even solo meals when you just want good food and peace.
What I personally liked most is how thoughtfully everything feels done. The interiors are warm, the plating is beautiful, and nothing about the place feels forced or overly flashy.
And please don’t skip dessert. That’s genuinely my recommendation.
Before You Go...
If I had to personally choose the perfect Hyderabad weekend from this list, I’d probably do Mad For Mangos during the day, café-hop a little in the evening, and end the night at the Telugu jamming session.
Very balanced. Very Hyderabad.
Until next week — go outside a little more. The city feels nicest when you experience it slowly.
