Hello everyone,
Welcome back to Lost in Hyd — a weekly newsletter where I share the best things happening around Hyderabad that genuinely feel worth your time, money, and weekend energy.
Every week, I tell myself I’m going to have a quiet weekend. And somehow, every single time, this city convinces me otherwise. This week honestly feels like one of those “say yes to plans” kind of weeks. The kind where you step out for one event and somehow end up discovering a new café, laughing too much at a comedy set, or driving back home at midnight, wondering why you don’t do this more often.
So if you’ve been looking for things to do in Hyderabad this week, here’s everything I’d personally recommend adding to your plans.
Pottery Date Night
First, if your idea of a perfect outing involves slowing down a little, you should genuinely look at the pottery date workshop happening in the city.
Pottery experiences have quietly become one of my favorite ways to spend an evening because nobody’s really worried about being productive there. You just sit, get your hands messy, talk, laugh, and somehow time moves slower. It’s honestly such a refreshing break from Hyderabad’s usual café hopping routine.
Perfect if you’re tired of the same dinner-and-coffee plans.
Gourmet Cinema: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Now if you’re someone who still believes “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” is more than just a film, this one is for you.
The SCC Gourmet Cinema experience around the movie looks ridiculously good this week. Imagine watching the film while eating a curated Spanish tasting menu inspired by the movie itself.
From Barcelona vibes to the whole road-trip energy, this feels less like a screening and more like an experience you’d remember for a while. I honestly think this is one of the most unique date-night or friends-night-out plans Hyderabad has hosted recently.
A Comedy Night with Gurleen Pannu
And if your week has been stressful, please do yourself a favor and go watch Gurleen Pannu live.
Her show “Monster” is happening in Hyderabad, and if you enjoy observational comedy that feels personal, chaotic, and way too relatable, you’ll probably love this.
There’s something about live comedy shows that instantly changes your mood for the week. Also, Hyderabad crowds at comedy gigs have become unexpectedly fun lately.
Cricket Mania at Gachibowli
For the sporty people — or honestly, even if you just miss college-style chaos — there’s also Cricket Mania happening at Gachibowli this week.
And I don’t know what happened recently, but Hyderabad suddenly seems obsessed with box cricket again. Everywhere I look, people are planning weekend cricket scenes, random late-night matches, and group games.
This honestly sounds like one of those plans where you go “just for one hour” and end up staying the whole evening.
This Week’s Food Recommendation
If you’ve never been to Exotica, let this week be the excuse.
I recently revisited Exotica and remembered why Hyderabad keeps recommending it to everyone who wants a rooftop dinner plan that actually feels worth dressing up for.
The rooftop ambiance at night, especially when the weather behaves, is genuinely beautiful. It’s one of those places that works equally well for family dinners, date nights, birthdays, or even just a “we should go somewhere nice today” plan.
Personally, I’d recommend going around sunset or slightly later in the evening because the city lights completely change the vibe.
Final Thoughts
Honestly, this week’s lineup feels very Hyderabad in the best way possible:
a little artsy, a little nostalgic, slightly chaotic, food-heavy, and somehow always centered around good conversations.
So if you’ve been postponing plans for “next weekend,” maybe don’t this time.
See you around the city.
